How does your sizing work?
All our trousers are made and delivered to you with an adjustable waistband and tailored with a 5 cm/2 inch turn up. The waistband makes it possible to adjust your waist size up or down for a personalised fit. You can unfold the turn up for extra length simply by removing the stitches holding it up, without the need to visit your own tailor. There is also 8 cm/3 inches extra fabric hidden in the hem, should you need to personalise your trouser length further, please use the Boyant size guide to find out which size will be perfect for you.
What’s the range of the waist size?
We offer The First Cut in five different sizes: extra small (XS), small (S), medium (M), large (L) and extra large (XL). Take a look at the Boyant size guide to choose the perfect fit for you and to see the exact measurements.
What size should I buy?
If you are not sure of what size you should buy, please take a look at the Boyant size guide and measure your waist and compare to the guide. If you are in between two sizes we recommend you to buy the smaller one. We generally recommend that the buckle in the waistband should attach to the mid or outer hole initially, as this will make room for the fabric to expand.
Regarding the length, you can easily personalise the length of the trousers, see under FAQ “Is it possible to extend the length of the trousers?”.
Is it possible to extend the length of the trousers?
Yes, it’s possible to extend the trousers’ length. One option is that you can easily remove the stitches that are sewn to keep the turn up in its place and fold down the turn up. The trousers will then be 5 cm longer, now without a turn up.
In addition to this, another option is to use the extra 8 cm/3 inches extra fabric which is folded inside the trousers’ hem. If you unfold the extra fabric, you can extend the length of the trousers and still keep the turn up. You can then adjust and choose another height of the turn up, for example 3 cm instead of the regular 5 cm turn up.

Do I have to visit my tailor to adjust the length of the trousers?
It’s up to you. Please see under FAQ “Is it possible to extend the length of the trousers?”. Boyant will always recommend you to visit your tailor if you’re not sure how to make the adjustment.. Please note that if you’ve altered the trousers they are not eligible for a return or exchange.
Do I have to wash the trousers at the dry cleaner?
No, all trousers can be washed in a washing machine, however we do recommend hand washing. Please follow the washing instructions on the care label inside your trousers.
Does the trouser shrink during laundry?
The fabric may shrink up to 4% after a wash in a washing machine. But don’t worry, the trousers will expand when you use them again. If you don’t wash your trousers according to the washing instructions, the trousers may shrink more than 4%.
Shipping & Returns
Is it free shipping & returns worldwide?
We offer free shipping on orders within the EU over €180, for orders under €180 shipping is approximately €6, the exact cost is calculated at checkout. The delivery time is 3-5 business days depending on the day of ordering. For orders within the EU we charge a small fee for the shipping cost of your return (€8 / 80 SEK / 70 DKK) and this is deducted from your final refund.
For orders outside the EU, we charge for shipping and customers pay for the return. The exact shipping amount is calculated at checkout (approximately £19 GBP, $29 USD, 199 NOK).
Can I change my mind?
We hope you are happy with your order, however if you are not fully satisfied, we offer free returns on all orders and you may return your item(s) within 30 days of delivery for a full refund or exchange for the product, please note that we will not refund the amount paid for shipping. Please ensure returned item(s) are in an unworn, unaltered and sellable condition with all garment tags still attached.
How do I make a return?
If you are situated within Europe, please contact us to arrange your return and we will provide you with a shipping label.
If you are situated outside of Europe, you're responsible for your return, please email us at email@example.com and include your name, order number and the number of item(s) you are returning. We will then email you return instructions.
I didn’t get a return label, how can I return my parcel?
In such cases we kindly ask you to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and give us information about your order. You’ll then get instructions from us how you do to return the package.
My trousers haven't been delivered yet, what should I do?
First, please take a look at the tracking number provided for the latest update. If you don’t find any information about your order at the delivery companies website, please contact us at email@example.com. Please note that delivery times within the EU is 3-5 business days depending on day of ordering.
Please note that the shipping companies might not deliver during holidays and weekends.
I need to return my trousers and change the size or the model. What should I do?
For exchanges, we recommend you return your item(s) and place a new order for speed and to secure your desired size.
We recommend you to make a new order at the same time (or before) you return your delivered trousers to ensure your wanted size is still available. This means that you haven’t got your refund for your returned trousers yet, but instead of waiting for the first trousers to be returned to and then the new size or model delivered to you, you’ll get your new trousers quicker, within our regular delivery terms. Your refund for the original order will be processed when the trousers are returned and after a few transaction days.
Otherwise, if no hurry, just return your trousers and await your refund to then make your new order with the right size, fabric or model for you.
